My son has just started the oboe and I have to say that I have only tested it on Play That Note.

Interestingly, when I first tested the oboe it worked 100% as it should do. I think that is because I have a good embrasure and know how to hit a note accurately. After only a few hours of having played the oboe for the first time ever, I had rattled through 12 out of 18 levels in Play That Note.

Frustratingly, the other day my son bought home a new reed – some sort of practice reed, I think – and it caused his oboe to play a whole semitone flat. That put a bit of a spanner in the works, but we were able to make the game work by tuning the app to his instrument. You can do this from the Toonr The Tuner game.
